An incredible incident unfolded in Evia with the arrest of a 16-year-old by the men of the Coast Guard in Chalkida.

The minor was not only noticed driving a I.X. vehicle without having a driver’s license but during the process of his arrest, he resisted and acted threateningly against the officials of the Port Authority of Chalkida, who nevertheless managed to immobilize him.

The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, May 29, at the beach of Artakis, within the land zone of the port, on Agios Nikolaos Artakis Street.

The port officers proceeded to arrest the 16-year-old, for violating article 94 of Law 2696/99 (on the Road Traffic Code) as well as article 167 of the Civil Code. (Violence against officials and judicial persons).

Then followed the arrest of his 54-year-old mother for violating the provisions of article 360 ​​of the Criminal Code, regarding neglecting the supervision of a minor.

The Central Port Authority of Chalkida, which conducts the preliminary investigation, imposed the prescribed administrative sanctions.

A case was filed against those arrested and they were referred to the Prosecutor.
