The compensation awarded by the European Court, for the disciplinary prosecutions he suffered – and of which he was acquitted – in the two years 2016-2017, the current Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Isidoros Dogiakos, decided to allocate them to the purchase of defibrillators for the courts of Athens.

The supreme prosecutor offered with the money of the awarded compensation, without asking for it, four defibrillators to cover emergency needs in the courts, where, as is known, thousands of citizens as well as lawyers and judges are trafficked every day.

In particular, he offered a defibrillator to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court, which will also cover the needs of the Supreme Court, a defibrillator for the Prosecutor’s Office of Appeals and the Court of Appeal of Athens, and a defibrillator to the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance and the Court of First Instance of Athens.

The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court in a relevant letter to his legal deputy, senior deputy prosecutor of the Supreme Court Dimitris Papageorgiou states, among other things, that: “On the occasion of my imminent departure from the Service, reflecting on the benefits it has offered me over a long series of years, I inform you that I am offering the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court, for joint use with the Supreme Court, a defibrillator to cover medical emergencies, of a cardiac nature, in places where a large number of citizens and workers pass through or stay every day. I note that the cost of purchasing this machine was covered by the amount of money awarded to me (without my having asked for it), as monetary satisfaction due to moral damage, by the European Court of Human Rights following my appeal against a decision of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court”.
