A collision between two Vanuatu and Singapore flag cargo vessels occurred in the sea area 9 nautical miles north northwest of Chios.

Since the collision, no injuries or water ingress have been reported so far and both ships are empty of cargo.

6 coast guard vessels, a high seas vessel, a navy vessel, a super puma helicopter and by-passing vessels are rushing to the scene of the incident. The weather in the sea area is good.

According to the first information, one ship has a crew of 13 while the other has 19 and they are in good health.

In particular, the Vanuatu flag ship has a crew of 13. It had started from Alexandria, Egypt for Ukraine. The other Singapore-flagged vessel is said to have 19 crew members on board and had departed from Izmir bound for France.

Up to this moment, there has been no request to leave by the crews of the two ships, while a large operational force of the port corps is rushing to the scene.
