The new cases of coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours amount to 17,447, according to the information of EODY.

During the same period, 78 deaths were recorded, with the death toll from the outbreak of the pandemic reaching 21,888.

At the same time, there are 686 intubated patients in the Intensive Care Units.

The tests performed today are 359,572 and the positivity is estimated at 4.85%.

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 17,447, of which 64 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,650,088 (daily change + 1.1%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 543 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,354 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 78, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 21,888 deaths have been recorded. 95.1% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 686 (59.9% men). Their median age is 65 years. 80.0% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 565 (82.36%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 121 (17.64%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,890 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 551 (daily change -1.61%). The average seven-day admission is 574 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
