From streptococcus came the death of the 7-year-old boy from Imathia, on the evening of Sunday, June 11, as the results of the laboratory tests finally showed.

The news of the tragic end of the little boy plunged Imathia and all of Greece into grief.

According to his father 7 years old from Naoussa “the results of the exams showed that it was after all streptococcus».

Devastated, he stated that “yesterday when the child entered the ICU they took samples and now the results are out and they told us that it was streptococcus and not meningitis, as they had said at the beginning”.

The seven-year-old boy initially presented high fever and diarrhea and his parents took him to the Naoussa hospital. He was hospitalized for 2 days, but his condition worsened and he was transferred to the “Gennimatas” hospital in Thessaloniki.

But his health deteriorated rapidly. They intubated him and took him to the hospital”Hippocrates“, as there is the only Children’s ICU in Northern Greece.

The child was taken to Hippocrates on Sunday evening, at about 8 pm. He suffered failure and the doctors tried to revive him and did cardiopulmonary resuscitation for over an hour, but unfortunately the little boy passed out at about 10 pm.
