The resignation of the 35-year-old convicted husband-killer in the Sweet Waters case from all legal remedies was announced by his authorized counsel, at the start of the hearing. The district attorney, however, taking the floor, argued that at this stage, this is not possible.

“The question of resignation has a window of time that runs out at the start of the discussion of the case. No waiver of appeal is permitted after initiation. This is set in order not to make a mockery of the process and avoid unnecessary trials. You are well versed in law and you know all this. So the trial should continue,” said the prosecutor.

The lawyer of the 35-year-old sentenced to life in prison replied that in any case, the two lawyers who represented him until now in the trial, are resigning from his legal representation.

The court finally ruled that it rejects the waiver of the appeal and that two advocates will be appointed ex officio from the DSA list in order to continue the trial.

The 35-year-old did not join the court from prison.
