The messages that result from the comparison of the percentage of vaccinated and unvaccinated patients who are currently in the intensive care units of our country’s hospitals are clear, presented by the president of the Panhellenic Medical Association Athanasios Exadaktylos on SKAI TV and the show “Today”.
According to yesterday’s data, out of every 100,000 vaccinated, one results in the intensive care unit, while out of every 9,000 unvaccinated people, one is in the intensive care unit.
Mr. Exadaktylos stressed that at the moment the situation in the hospitals is marginal and the doctors and nurses are very tired. He added that the Health System has endured twice so far and beyond its limits, but this does not mean that it is good to exhaust them “every three or so”.
Regarding the new measures for the unvaccinated, the president of the PIS stressed that they are implemented to protect them and must be observed and monitored.
He particularly referred to those who find “intelligent” ways to circumvent controls, saying that they expose themselves and their fellow human beings to danger. He even suggested reconsidering the issue of certificates from neighboring countries that are accepted in our country.
He likened the lockdown to amputation in which every effort is made to avoid it but no one can dogmatically reject it.
“Lockdowns are like amputations in surgery. “They are completely undesirable, unattractive, every effort is made to avoid them, but dogmatism in medicine is not allowed,” he stressed.
