News extended police operation to tackle crime took place across the Peloponnese Region on Tuesday, with 19 arrests being made in Messinia for various offences.
During the operation, checks were carried out on 1,002 people, of which 817 were Greeks and 185 foreigners, as well as on 686 vehicles.
In addition, 110 people were brought in, of which 76 were Greeks and 34 foreigners, while 74 people were arrested. Also, a total of 356 violations of the Road Traffic Code were confirmed.
In Messinia, the following were arrested in detail:
- Four people on drug charges, one of whom is also charged with violating gun laws. In particular, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Kalamata for possessing a dagger and a cigarette. A 25-year-old man was arrested in Soulinari with 0.7 grams of hashish and a cigarette. Finally, a 25-year-old man with one gram of hashish and a 29-year-old woman with 7 drug tablets were arrested separately in Kalamata
- Two people, for stealing electricity
- A 42-year-old man in Kalamata, because he had a pending case against him by the Chalkidos Criminal Council, for a distinguished case of theft
- A 38-year-old man in Kalamata, for a document of conviction, as since 2019 a decision of the Single-Member Misdemeanor Court of Kalamata was pending for perjury. Seven Greeks and four foreigners, for violations of the Road Traffic Code.
Those arrested were taken to the competent local prosecutors.
