This was announced at the event “Information Day for Turkey, Egypt, Israel” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN-Hellas 2025).

The Secretary General of International Economic Relations and Outreach of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of the Board of Enterprise Greece, Vicky Loizou, pointed out that these countries have always been Greece’s traditional trading partners. Specifically, to the existing commercial and economic relations between Greece and the three countries, the actions of the National Strategic Outreach Plan for 2023 will be added, with 26 outreach actions for Turkey, 23 for Israel and 21 for her Egypt. Finally, Ms. Loizou recognized that extroversion requires coordinated efforts of all involved entities, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs supporting Greek businesses with targeted actions around the world.

In her greeting, the president of EBEA, Mrs Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou he emphasized: “These are markets with which Greece already has developed commercial relations. Turkey is among the top five destinations for Greek products. The value of our exports to the neighboring country reached 2.2 billion euros for the first time in 2022, showing an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. Accordingly, the region of the Middle East and North Africa is one of the country’s main export destinations outside of Europe. Specifically regarding Israel, last year we had a historic record increase in Greek exports – of the order of 23.5% excluding petroleum products and 55% including petroleum products – compared to 2021. Egypt is also in the top ten of the export destinations in the specific region. Therefore, in all three of these countries there are significant possibilities for the further penetration of Greek products and services.

From our side, as EBEA, we continue in every way the export efforts of our members – always in partnership and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the official external agencies of the country. We continue to operate as a “conduit” of valid and timely information for international markets. We are constantly expanding our networking activities, with the aim of bringing extroverted businesses closer to potential partners. We focus on organizing effective business missions, like the one we recently carried out with great success in Romania. Outgoing entrepreneurship can and must become the driving force for the development of the Greek economy in the coming years.”
