The LAE/OPEKA children’s camp program for the year 2023 begins on Thursday, June 22, 2023, throughout the country, as announced by the Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity Organization (OPEKA).

The program concerns the hosting of 1,500 children, beneficiaries of LAE, aged 6 to 16, for 16 days (15 nights) in children’s camps, contracted with LAE/OPEKA.

As stated in the relevant announcement, it is valid from 22/06/2023 to 31/08/2023 (final date of departure from the camp) for children of typical development and until 10/09/2023 (final date of departure from the camp) for children with a disability of 50% or more.

The names of the beneficiaries for the children’s camp program can be searched on the OPEKA website in the online services, by entering the TIN and AMKA of the child’s parent.

Below the eligible parent’s information is the child’s camp program card, which the parent must print and bring to the camp.

Each parent beneficiary of LAE/OPEKA can print a single card for each of their children.

On the same page of OPEKA, the list of contracted children’s camps is posted, while it is clarified that parents can decide to which camp – always from the contracted ones – they want to send their children.

OPECA subsidizes businesses that provide accommodation to beneficiaries during the validity of the children’s camp program.

Therefore, on behalf of the beneficiaries, no financial participation arises for the year 2023.

Businesses, for their part, must faithfully observe all health protocols, as well as all the necessary measures to avoid the transmission of diseases and accidents.

According to the announcement, LAE/OPEKA does not bear the slightest responsibility for any irregular behavior of the officials of the contracted camps.
