The pensions of civil servants will be issued even faster thanks to the new updated version of the DAYK (Individual Employment Status) electronic application, which is another field of close and multi-level cooperation between e-EFKA and the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems ( GGPSDD) of the Ministry of Digital Governance.

The new e-DAVK was the subject of a special conference co-organized by the GHPSDD and e-EFKA in the GHPSDD Amphitheater with the participation of approximately 150 executives from Public Administration bodies, which was attended by the Acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Patrina Paparrigopoulou, the Acting Minister of Digital Governance Sokratis Katsikas, the General Secretary of Public Administration Information Systems Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos and the Deputy Director of e-EFKA Alexandros Varveris.

As emphasized during the event, e-DAYK is still importing greater speed and accuracy in the information it incorporates (in relation to the civil servant’s insurance period) and further strengthens the element of automation in the process of awarding Public Sector pensions, by adding new fields concerning – among others – the use of consecutive insurance, the length of service public servant abroad etc. In this context, it emerges in valuable “tool” for the rapid certification of the insurance period and by extension for the even faster issuance of the main pensions to the State.

Welcoming the conference, Mrs. Paparrigopoulou highlighted the importance of the cooperation of the Ministries of Labor and Social Affairs and Digital Governance. As he pointed out, “We place great emphasis on the use of new digital tools -which contribute decisively to the acceleration of the granting of pensions- and to the training of employees in them. The unification and automation of the procedures resulting from these new tools contributes decisively to the faster and better service of the insured and pensioners”.

Mr. Katsikas, for his part, expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of the use of digital applications. “With applications such as e-DAYK developed by public bodies cooperating with each other, the resulting benefits do not only reflect on the insured and pensioners. They reflect on the agencies themselves, they remain as an investment through the transfer of know-how”, he noted.

Mr. Anagnostopoulos referred to the contribution of the applications and platforms developed by GISSD for the better operation of e-EFKA. “With the new applications, we were able to reach at least 65% automatic issuance of main State pensions, so that the awarding time has been limited to approximately 2 months,” he emphasized. Additionally, through interoperability, the GISDSD contributed to serving the citizen without inconvenience, with Gov.gr services for e-EFKA, as well as through the new GCloud infrastructures where the systems “run” the award 15 times faster.

Finally, Mr. Varveris briefly presented the importance of the upgraded e-DAYK for the speed of awarding pensions (as more data on the employment status of civil servants will be standardized and available in digital form), information reliability and data quality. “This saves us from difficult steps that create mistakes”as he characteristically said, stressing that the effort in e-EFKA to eliminate all pending pensions and to modernize its systems continues at an intensive pace.
