As the SAS plane begins its take-off, the air coming out of the turbines nearly blows some of the bystanders running for safety
It is a daily phenomenon in the summer in Skiathos, tourists as well as locals documenting the planes taking off from close range.
They are ignoring serious advice not to get too close, with most defying the dangers despite last year’s accident when a tourist was thrown from the aircraft’s turbines and suffered severe brain injuries.
As can be seen in a video posted by a Briton on Twitter from last week, the situation at Skiathos airport remains the same.
In the video, several people can be seen behind the wall that separates the runway from the road that passes behind the airport of Skiathos.
When the SAS plane revs its engines to begin its take-off, the air coming out of the turbines nearly blows some of the bystanders into the air.
Just downloaded my Skiathos videos from last week, here’s a small preview of the absolute chaos when people underestimate the power of aircraft engines! pic.twitter.com/ll2g9nY8AA
