Since arriving in Brazil, in 1997, the Outback restaurant chain has become a fever and accumulates queues, especially on weekends and commemorative dates.

With decor inspired by Australian culture, the brand actually emerged in the United States. Today, it has units on three continents. But, according to a report by the American newspaper The Washington Post, nowhere is Outback as successful as in Brazilian lands.

According to the publication, this Tuesday (20), the country is responsible for 83% of the network’s global revenue outside the United States. Around here, there are 150 units spread across 19 states, plus the Federal District. The author of the text ironizes the “love affair” of Brazilians with the restaurant in the country of barbecue.

The specialty of the house is meat, like ribs with barbecue sauce, one of the most requested. This and other flagship items served as the basis for new dishes that the chain added to the menu this week.

In one of the novelties, the rib arrives at the table in the shape of a crown, stuffed with mac n’ cheese and shredded rib to finish. Fried potatoes with cheese and breaded onion petals serve as an accompaniment. The dish costs R$ 129.90.

The catupiry madness hamburger (R$ 54.90) is made with 200 g of meat, breaded catupiry cheese, red onion, a new house-made green mayonnaise plus smoked mayonnaise on a brioche bun.

To sweeten it up, the popstar trio dessert (R$ 49.90) features brownie, s’more (cookies with creamy Kit Kat paste, marshmallow gratin and chocolate sauce) and banoffee with dulce de leche, brigadeiro with cinnamon, banana slices and whipped cream.

The new dishes are available in all units across the country for a limited time — from the beginning until mid-August. Only the hamburger is available in the brand’s delivery.

Brazil also collects other numbers: the largest Outback store in the world is in the Center Norte shopping mall, in São Paulo. See all addresses on the website.
