The peculiarity of the Torch Relay for the 2024 Olympics is that the Flame will also travel to overseas possessions of France
The Paris 2024 Olympic Flame will be lit on April 16, marking the countdown to the classic sports event (July 26-August 11, 2024) in the French capital, organizers announced on Friday (06/23). The Ceremony will be held in Ancient Olympia and the Flame will remain on Greek soil until its departure for France from Athens on April 27. Her arrival in Marseille is scheduled for May 8.
The peculiarity of the Torch Relay for the 2024 Olympics is that the Flame will also travel to overseas possessions of France.
In particular, the Olympic Flame will “travel” within Metropolitan France until July 7, passing through Montpellier, Bordeaux and Corsica, among others, and then it will be transferred from the port of Brest to areas such as French Polynesia, Guadeloupe and Martinique.
The Olympic Flame will return to Metropolitan France on June 18 for the final stage of the Torch Relay, during which it will pass through cities such as Strasbourg, Reims and Lille, before arriving in Paris on July 14-15.
