Shocking moments unfolded on Friday afternoon in its center Plataniawhen a 60-year-old tourist who was visiting the area suffered a heart attack.
The mobilization was immediate and finally the man was saved by rescuers from a private polyclinic in Platanias and the crew of the EKAB ambulance that rushed to the incident.

According to the official information about the incident, at 18:58 a call was made for a patient with cardiorespiratory arrest at a hotel in Platanias, Chania, at 19:10 the ambulance arrived at the site. CPR had already started. A Defibrillator was placed, intubated with a laryngeal mask, an IV line was placed, and Advanced Life Support (ALS) was initiated by the EMS crew. In collaboration with the staff of Mr. Vittorakis, the patient was assigned to sinus rhythm and transferred to the Chania General Hospital at 19:40. The patient was transferred to the Coronary Unit.
