The tragedy has shocked both countries
Today, the bodies of the two young Irishmen who were found dead on the island of Ios, where they were on holiday, are being transported to Piraeus where an autopsy will be carried out.
The two classmates and friends arrived on the island of Ios to celebrate, together with other classmates, their graduation and the trip turned into a tragedy.
According to the information available to the police authorities, one was found dead in a field on the island with a head injury and the second lost consciousness while he was at the port of the island to depart, saddened by the death of his friend.

Regarding the injury to the head of the 18-year-old Irishman, the doctors of the Ios Health Center believe that it came from the fall, but the police authorities are considering all possibilities.
The young Irishman was enjoying himself in a bar on the island on Saturday night and on his way back to his room he apparently lost his way and fell into a field resulting in fatal injuries.
His disappearance was reported to the Police by his friends the morning of the next day and after mobilization the police managed to locate him.
