The staffing of the State with the necessary personnel is at the top of the agenda of the new leadership of the Ministry of the Interior, which with the “good morning” has intensified efforts to speed up the recruitment procedures, with the winners of the pan-Hellenic ASEP written competition at the forefront.

It is no coincidence that the first meeting of Minister Nikis Kerameos after assuming her new duties was with ASEP president Thanos Papaioannou.

At the meeting, it was decided to have a faster and more efficient way of recruitment with an emphasis on the absorption of the successful candidates of the first pan-Hellenic written competition of ASEP, last March, as well as the routing of recruitment to the municipal police.

After the lifting of the suspension of recruitments and service changes that was in force due to the two electoral contests, preparations began for the issuance of the first notices by the ASEP for recruitments to public bodies from the “pool” of approximately 6,200 successful candidates of the written competition.

During this period, efforts are being made to complete the required procedures (determination of additional qualifications depending on the advertised positions, etc.) within July and to issue the announcement concerning the 1,800 successful TE (Technological) educational category.

Corresponding actions have been launched for the 4,400 successful PE (University) educational category so that the relevant procedures are completed by the end of the month and the announcement is issued in September.

With the publication of the announcements, interested parties will be invited to declare their preferences to State bodies, in the same way as the computerized forms that students of the nationwide exams declare the schools of their choice.

The goal is to complete the expression of interest and the review of applications by the end of August, so that the filling of vacant positions can begin in the fall.

Vacancies will be filled on the basis of the annual recruitment programming drawn up with the needs of ministries, their supervised bodies, local governments and independent authorities in mind.

N. Kerameos: “The right person in the right position”

In her statement to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, Mrs. Kerameos points out the following:

“The changes in the state are a means to serve the citizens with respect and prioritize their needs. In this effort, we will proceed with the cooperation of the most valuable element of the Public Sector, human resources. We are planning to accelerate the recruitment of regular staff in the State through ASEP. By placing “the right person in the right position” we achieve maximum utilization of our valuable human resources and optimal quality of service provision to the citizen dealing with the public”.

Recruitment to the municipal police

At the same time, preparations have begun for the announcement concerning the filling of 1,213 positions in the municipal police at the request of the municipalities.
