Thessaloniki: Prosecutorial intervention after the 24-year-old complains that she was attacked by a lawyer

A new prosecutorial investigation was ordered for the rape case reported by the 24-year-old in Thessaloniki.

The investigation is directed against the lawyer Theofilos Alexopoulos who accompanied the 27-year-old defendant in the case to the White Tower Security Department.

The reason was the complaint of the 24-year-old in an interview that she gave that she was attacked by the specific lawyer while she was in the Department. “He was trying to charge me with responsibilities, that he knows things and to leave it because it is not as I say. He was trying to get me back with his words. “I was also alone, of course, in the situation I was in, trying to find my right and to remember to help me, and I also had this gentleman attack me,” said, among other things, the complainant, naming the lawyer.

Under these circumstances, the head of the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office, Panagiotis Panagiotopoulos, ordered a preliminary investigation to investigate the crime of attempted unlawful violence, while the lawyer will be called to testify illegally (as a suspicious act).

The lawyer in a statement issued earlier “to restore the truth” points out, among other things, that “at no point during the pre-trial investigation and until today I have not come in contact with the complainant whom I do not know, and of course the alleged verbal attack never happened not only because it is illegal but mainly because it does not reflect my Principles and Ethics, my anthropocentric approach to the function I exercise and the respect I owe and I always show to all the actors in the trial “. It should be noted that the specific lawyer did not appear in the apology given by the 27-year-old before the interrogator.
