Sustainable development is the basic framework of commitments of PPC Group, the first company in Greece active in the field of Renewable Energy Sources (RES).

Aiming to raise awareness and inform the public about RES and with the aim of committing to assume responsibility towards a sustainable future, PPC has created an original educational audio-visual experience, through which children, the citizens of tomorrow, learn about Renewables Energy sources, how they promote environmental protection, but also how useful and beneficial they are for humans.

In this special game, children come into contact with RES inside the specially designed PPC standwhere the main alternative energy sources take the form of superpower. Each child chooses their superpower, among the Sun, Water, Air, and Earth, which takes them on a fun journey of learning questions about that specific renewable energy source, but also about RES in general.

Through this journey of getting to know APE, children see their superpowers take their final form, each unique to each child, and at the end they can have their photo taken with them. The combination of education and fun offers children a complete visual, auditory and spatial interaction with the game and of course it can be repeated, choosing a different superpower each time.

The kiosk operates daily from 10:00 to 21:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 20:00, in the presence of specialized PPC staff, who are there to help children but also to inform adults about RES.

The green future of PPC

Recognizing its pivotal role for a sustainable world and the sustainable future of the country, it is constantly increasing its investments in RES, mainly photovoltaics and wind turbines, in projects that make its energy mix more “green”. At the end of 2023 PPC will have 1GW of installed capacity from RES up from almost zero in 2019. At the end of 2026 it will have 5GW of installed capacity from RES. State-of-the-art photovoltaic parks are currently being built in western Macedonia and the Peloponnese, which will gradually replace lignite units. Already, from 2019 to 2022, PPC has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 36%.
