In which areas is there a high risk of fire (risk category 3)
According to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis & Civil Protection, for today, Friday July 14, 2023, a high risk of fire (risk category 3) is predicted in Attica and Evia, in many areas of the Peloponnese, of Western Greece, Central Greece, Thessaly and Central Macedonia, in Kavala and Thassos, in areas of the Evros, in Crete and the Ionian Sea, as well as in the islands of the southern and eastern Aegean.

Also, according to the updated Emergency Bulletin of Dangerous Weather Phenomena (EDEKF) issued yesterday Thursday, July 13, 2023 by the National Meteorological Service (EMS), it is pointed out that from Sunday (16-07-2023) onwards a drop in temperature is expected mainly in east and north. The heat, however, will be maintained until the middle of next week with prices on the mainland around 39 to 40 degrees Celsius.
The fire department appeals to citizens to be especially careful and in the event of a fire, for their own safety, to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
