Material from security cameras that – if any – recorded the movements and route of the executioners, testimonies of local residents, as well as the professional and personal profile of the victim, are at the center of the Polygyros Security investigations into the cold-blooded murder of the 39-year-old from North Macedonia, in the early hours of Saturday, in Chanioti, Halkidiki.

At the same time, the Greek Authorities are strengthening controls at the border with North Macedonia, as it is possible that the perpetrators are compatriots of the victim, while there is a channel of cooperation with the Police of the neighboring country.

The evidence so far in the case seems to be converging to the conclusion that this is the execution of a “death contract” that comes as a “response” to previous executions between rival groups allegedly active in the field of illegality. North Macedonian media reports say that in the past months a friend of the 39-year-old was executed, while another murder followed in “retaliation”.

The above version is also supported by the way of action of the executioners, whose movements were targeted and lightning fast. Using a pistol – probably with a silencer – they “emptied” the magazine on their victim. His death was instantaneous, while the police collected a total of 19 shell casings from the scene of the murder. The 45-year-old compatriot friend of the murdered man was injured by the shrapnel and is hospitalized – out of danger – at Polygyros General Hospital. The body of the 39-year-old will be transported to Thessaloniki where it will be examined by a medical examiner.

Eyewitnesses of the murderer seem to have been his wife and another friendly couple, as it seems that they were all present together in Halkidiki, while, according to information, they were going to return to their homeland in the next 24 hours. Regarding the professional profile of the victim, information coming from the neighboring country shows him as a businessman-owner of a “slots” (casino type) shop.
