The priest who is accused of continuously raping a 14-year-old girl in the church that operated in Kato Patisia was severely prosecuted.
The 37-year-old, who is the father of three children, was given a deadline to apologize on Tuesday, January 25, at 11 in the morning.
The prosecution against the clergyman concerns charges of rape, abuse of indecency, seduction of a minor and pornographic material allegedly related to photos that -according to the case file- the accused asked the girl to send him.
The clergyman is on holiday
By decision of Archbishop Ieronymos, the clergyman was automatically put on holiday and at the same time the Archdiocese has already started the process of referring him to ecclesiastical Justice. Ecclesiastical Justice will move in parallel with criminal justice.
The complaints of the minor are shocking
The case file allegedly describes shocking evidence that emerged from the victim’s testimony with the acts being carried out between 2019 and May 2020, when the girl was 14 to 15 years old, up to 16 years old.
The priest initially allegedly asked for nude photos of the girl and then “bombarded” her with his own obscene images.
At the same time, as the minor testified to the police, the repeated rape had taken place both in the temple and in other places.
