Appeal against the decision of the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki in the case of his murder 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos and the wounding of his two friends following a vicious fan-motivated attack in Charilaou in the early hours of February 1, 2022 exerciseand the head of the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, Nikolaos Kallidis.

There was a previous request from the family of the deceased young man at the beginning of the week.

The appeal concerns in three points of the decision and in particular the conversion of the charge, the conviction of three of the accused as accomplices in the disputed acts as well as the amount of the penalties.

In particular, the prosecutor disagrees with the change of charge from direct to potential fraud, while for three (1st, 5th and 12th) of the condemned who were found guilty as accomplices, he considers that he should havethey are guilty the 1st for moral spoliation and the other two for spoliation in actions, as the district attorney, Kyriaki Kliaba, had also suggested.

Finally, he considers that the penalties imposed should be heavier for some of the acts.

This means that the defendants will be tried in the Court of Appeal from scratch, that is, again for manslaughter while the three who were convicted as accomplices, one (1st) will be tried as a moral perpetrator and the two (5th and 12th) as perpetrators.
