The Armed Forces are helping to extinguish the fires by deploying today, Tuesday, July 25, a total of 9 CL-215 aircraft, 6 CL-415 aircraft, 17 PZL aircraft and 6 CHINOOK helicopters to the active fronts, according to the needs and instructions of Civil Protection.

In addition, all the means-machines of the Armed Forces are still ready for disposal, following the instructions of the Civil Protection.

In addition to the assistance of the Armed Forces, in the prevention and extinguishing of fires with aerial and ground means and personnel, the following measures for the entire territory are still in force today, following the orders of the head of the Greek Armed Forces, General Konstantinos Floros:

– Dispatch of all 214 land surveillance patrols (1,284 people with 642 vehicles) and 22 fire brigades (132 people with 66 vehicles), involving a total of 1,416 people and 708 vehicles, regardless of risk index.

– Dispatch of 50 surveillance patrols (300 people) in addition to those foreseen in the Attikovoiotia area.

– Dispatch of 18 surveillance patrols (108 people), in addition to those specified by the Fire Brigade, in central streets of Attica.

– Dispatch of surveillance patrols throughout the territory, up to 5 kilometers around all military installations.

Furthermore, all sections and means of the “Xenokratis” (5,312 people) and “Deucalion” (341 people) plan are available for 2 hours.

At the same time, a UH-1H helicopter flight is carried out to perform aerial surveillance in Magnesia-Larissa and readiness of UH-1H helicopter flights for surveillance of Eastern Aegean islands, and there is an increased readiness of military hospitals and health units.
