Research into the exact causes that led to his crash Canadair in Karystos and the death of the two pilots, the Air Force started. GEA officials are collecting all the evidence from the scene and from the video that recorded the fatal flight of the aircraft, in order to come to the conclusion and find the causes of this great tragedy.

The crash of CL-215, while operating on the fire front at Platanisto Karystou, came to be added to the overall tragedy that the country is experiencing in the last two weeks, with prolonged heat and large fires on many fronts across the territory. The forces have been exhausted by the overexertion, which, however, continues, as the fronts are still active in many areas and in the coming days the risk of fire danger is very high.

Based on the visual material, the aircraft at the moment it made the fire attack on Platanistos Karystos and in the phase of releasing the water hit a tree with the right wing, the right float was cut off, which increased the right inclination of the aircraft and hit the ground.
