Naxos: The mountainous network – stadium became a “ski park” (pics – vid)

The bad weather “Elpida” is in progress in our country, “hitting” intensively in the last hours the prefecture of Cyclades.

In Naxos and especially in the mountainous areas, the snow has covered everything, while now the drivers should use anti-skid chains and should be very careful in their movements.

The Police is on foot at these hours, while it is characteristic that from Filoti the police of the department, stop all the passing drivers, giving the appropriate instructions to those who want to climb even higher.

In any case, those who do not have chains take the road back.

Of course, apart from the problems created by the bad weather, young and old did not miss the opportunity to play in the snow, at the stadium of Filoti, which was suddenly turned into a ski resort.

The Municipality of Naxos issued the following announcement:

“Due to the heavy snowfall, the movement of vehicles on the mountainous main road network is carried out only with anti-skid chains.
