At noon on Tuesday, bad weather will return to the Aegean and Crete will “clean up” the mainland. In the night of Crete the snow will decrease and on Wednesday the snow will stop but it will stay cold.

Regarding the development of bad weather, the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis, warned that on Monday and Tuesday very strong weather phenomena are expected with unprecedented heavy snowfall in areas of the country where there are usually no similar weather phenomena.

“The phenomenon from the north will start late tonight, so regardless of the weather at the moment, everyone should be ready and know that there may be an unexpected change in the weather,” the minister said. Especially for Attica, as he said, according to the latest information of EMY, the phenomena are expected to start a little earlier than the initial estimate of the meteorologists, that is, from early noon tomorrow, Monday.

“The abrupt change of weather must be a big problem for us in our travels because we can leave in clear weather but when we return the conditions are very different. “This strong recommendation to the citizens is accompanied by a recommendation that in many areas the traffic on the roads will need anti-skid chains”, stressed Mr. Stylianidis.

In addition, the decision to close the schools and the possibility of electricity even in the smallest village were discussed at the center of the meeting.
