Armed with three knives, and in boxing gear, they were the seven Romanian hooligans who were going down to Piraeus for the match between Olympiakos and Genk.

The van with the seven Romanian hooligans, of a club twinned with Genk, stopped by the Police on border station of Promachona, and were arrested for violation of the legislation on weapons and on amateur and professional sports.

Olympiacos hosts Genk tonight, Thursday in Karaiskakis for the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League.

7 people were arrested in Serres for violating the law on weapons and the law on amateur and professional sports

7 foreign men were arrested today (August 10, 2023) in the early hours of the morning in Serres, by police officers of the Serres Security Sub-Directorate, for violating the legislation on weapons and the legislation on amateur and professional sports.

In particular, during a police check of the vehicle they were traveling in upon entering the country through the Promahona Serres border station, as well as in their possession, the following were found and confiscated:

  • 2 knives,
  • 1 multi-tool with a knife,
  • 23 spray paint,
  • 1 “full face” type mask,
  • boxing equipment (wristbands, armbands),
  • shirt, scarf and other items bearing the insignia of a foreign sports club.

Those arrested, with the case filed against them, will be brought to the Prosecutor of Serres.
