From the middle of March 2023 until August 11, 2023, the two persons had committed twelve thefts and three attempted thefts in houses on the outskirts of the city of Heraklion and in the wider area of the Municipality of Phaistos
In the investigation of a total of fifteen theft-burglary cases, police officers of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate in cooperation with the Phaistos Police Department proceeded, for which one man was arrested and a case file was filed against another.
As it emerged from the investigation, from mid-March 2023 until August 11, 2023, the two individuals had committed twelve thefts and three attempted thefts in houses in the suburbs of the city of Heraklion and in the wider area of the Municipality of Phaistos, removing jewelry with a total value of at least 74,750 euros and a monetary amount of at least 17,820 euros.
In fact, in a police investigation, carried out at their homes, with the assistance of police officers and the Crime Prevention Team of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate and the Heraklion Police Bicycle Team, part of the jewelry that had been removed was found and confiscated, which was returned to its owner.
In addition, a sum of money in euros and banknotes of other countries was confiscated. The preliminary investigation continues by the Security Directorate of Heraklion.
