Film screenings at the 6th Stroggylo Open Air Film Festival
The screenings organized by the 6th Stroggylo Open Air Film Festival keep us company on the fifteenth. On Monday, August 14, he presents the Greek film “With Dignity” directed by Dimitris Katsimiris. The film follows the story of three brothers who, during their reunion on the birthday of their sick father, come into an intense confrontation, after which their lives will never be the same.
On Tuesday, August 15, in the context of world cinema, it hosts the classic, black-and-white film “The Harbor of Agonia” with the one and only Marlon Brando. The film earned the charismatic actor his first Oscar, while it revolves around a former boxer. A stevedore at New York Harbor, he runs various errands on behalf of union leaders. When he realizes that his union has been infected by organized crime and is exploiting the dock workers, he decides to appear before the relevant state commission and tell the truth.
On Wednesday, August 16, the anti-war film “In the Dark” will be screened. A Serbian/Danish film, inspired by a Kosovo girl’s letter to her missing father, describing the difficulties and challenges faced by the Serbs in Kosovo. The film captures in a stark and realistic way how people perceive and deal with fear, anxiety and all that follows.
