The Minister of National Defense posted on social media a video of a helicopter trying to put out the fire, stating at the same time that the armed forces are on the front line
In the first line of the front of the fires are the armed forces, notes, among others, the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, in his post on twitter, which he accompanied with a video showing a helicopter trying to put out a fire.
“Our thoughts at this time are with the residents who are being tested in the areas affected by the fires, as well as with the personnel of the Armed Forces who are assisting them by any means available (firefighting aerial vehicles, military ambulances for the transport of patients, tankers, machinery opening fire zones, etc.).
At the Regional Unit of Evros since last night, the Chief of the General Directorate of the General Directorate of Defense and Security has been present Konstantinos Floros while in the specific areas, as well as in the areas with a high risk of fire, the presence of Armed Forces patrols has increased.
The Armed Forces will continue to be at the forefront of dealing with this emergency situation and at the service of society as a whole, in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection”
