As it became known from the GHETHA, a total of 6 firefighting aircraft CL-215, 4 firefighting aircraft CL-415, 13 firefighting aircraft PZL are operating in the active fronts of the fires in Alexandroupolis, Municipality of Arriana Komotini, Dialecto Kavala, Elefsina, Thisvi Thebes, Lesbos and Phyli Attica and 4 CHINOOK helicopters.

In Alexandroupoli

● 2 Groups of 20 people of the “XENOKRATIS” Scheme,

● 2 groups of 10 people of the DEFKALYON plan,

● Earth promoters to create fire zones,

● Water Vehicles,

● Tanker Vehicles and

● General Purpose Vehicles and

In the municipality of Arrianon Komotini

● 2 Earth promoters to create fire zones.

At the same time, the number of personnel and means available today, as part of the Armed Forces’ assistance in fire prevention, has increased.

Specifically, the following have been allocated:

– 1098 people with 549 vehicles for land surveillance patrols and

– 84 people with 42 vehicles for patrolling areas (Total: 1182 people and 591 vehicles).

Further following the orders of the Chief of GEETHA:

● All the personnel of the units based in the Prefecture of Evros were put on alert inside the camps, to get involved and deal with the developing situation,

● Surveillance patrols are carried out in the prefecture of Evros, up to 5 kilometers around all the military installations, in the mountainous massif of Rhodope, with an emphasis on mountain routes, while personnel of the 5th Assault Squadron carry out patrols to control routes in the mountainous masses of the prefectures of Evros and Rhodope ,

● Military hospitals and Health units of the zone of responsibility of the 4th Army Corps were put on increased alert,

● Surveillance patrols increased from 30 to 50 in 3 eight-hour shifts (300 people) in addition to those foreseen in the Attikovoiotia area,

● From the air, 1 KIOWA helicopter in Evros, 1 KIOWA helicopter in the Magnesia and Fthiotida regions, 1 UH-1H (Hiui) helicopter in Halkidiki prefecture, 1 UH-1H (Hiui) helicopter in Lesvos prefecture, and the UAV HERON fly overhead of the Prefecture of Evros by transferring a live image and all the necessary information to the National Operations Center (ETHKEPICH) and the Unified Crisis Management Coordination Center (ESKEDIK).

It is reminded that :

-All the sections of the XENOKRATIS plan comply with the prescribed preparations with a maximum preparation time of 4 hours,

-All the means – machines of the Armed Forces are still ready for disposal, following the instructions of the Civil Protection.
