The special O Melhor de São Paulo Gastronomia – Restaurantes, Bares e Cuisine brings a selection of more than 900 places to eat and drink in the city, presented according to their specialty and with information about the neighborhoods in which they are located.
In addition to the selection, the project highlights winners elected by the specialized jury and highlights the opinion of city residents through a Datafolha survey, which draws up a list of the best addresses in São Paulo according to São Paulo residents.

THE TORTERY
The brand, with units in Higienópolis, Morumbi and Pinheiros, produces elaborate pie recipes that are great as a main course — and, of course, as a dessert too. The menu has alternatives such as the mushroom, artichoke and gruyere cheese pie (R$26, individual; R$108, medium). Among the sweet versions, the darling is the chocolate with caramel and fleur de sel (R$ 18, individual; R$ 98, average).

ARTISAN ICE CREAM
It was at the end of 2020 that Marcio Ohta put into practice his idea of offering, for delivery, a gelato with the same quality as those sold in ice cream parlors. From the factory installed in Barra Funda, 500 ml pots of flavors such as pure pistachio, with pieces of the oilseed, come out. Another highlight is the vanilla bean, made with the Brazilian ingredient.

MICA CHOCOLATES
Inaugurated in 2020, the Mica craft store became known for its colorful and cool packaging and chocolates. The bonbons, which take three days to prepare, can have unusual flavors, such as dark chocolate cone, white chocolate ganache and Brazilian oil or milk chocolate chips, with cashew paste and caramelized white chocolate.

YOUR CHOCOLATES
Bebel Luz founded the chocolate shop in her home kitchen, creating sugar-free and dairy-free bonbons after leaving her marketing job at a multinational. The business grew in the pandemic and today it works in an atelier. Orders include the cashew nut-filled bar (R$45, 110 g) and the caramel bonbon with ganache (R$60, eight units; R$110, 16 units).

PUDDING GALLERY
The search for a creamy, smooth pudding without holes gave rise to the brand, which sells the recipe to order. There are orders such as the traditional casserole (R$ 78, 800 g), the dulce de leche version with walnut praline in a small bowl (R$ 15, 150 g) and even a pudding tasting, with flavors such as pistachio, Nutella and Sicilian lemon. In addition to pudding, it also offers chocolate mousse (R$16, 180 g).

BOTIGA EMPORIO PYRENEES
The family of Angel Ribas, of Spanish descent, produced handmade sausages for 60 years until the brand gained, in 2018, a store in Jardins. The space, which has a glass-enclosed curing chamber, sells items such as fuet, a classic dish from Catalonia, made with lean pork meat, salt and pepper (R$40, 150g). A good way to get to know the production, which has fresh, cooked and cured sausages, are the kits —one of them brings together Spanish chorizo, fuet and loin (R$ 115).

GODINHO HOUSE
Emporium with more than a century of history, it was recognized as intangible cultural heritage of São Paulo. Founded by José Maria Godinho, a Portuguese immigrant, the address is a remnant of the old São Paulo trade, which sells wines, sausages, imported products and cheeses. In the store, for example, sliced and cleaned cod (R$ 323.64, 1.8 kg), Havana Club rum (R$ 114.95 a bottle) and gift baskets with selected products from R $87.20.

CASA LA PASTINY
The food and wine importer, which has 75 years of history, decided to open its own address. The 620 m² space is divided into a shop, café, wine bar, restaurant, rotisserie and ice cream shop. In the store, there is a variety of Mediterranean products, such as wines, preserves and olive oils, including private label options. Among the items sold are anchovy fillets in olive oil (R$ 50.24, 90 g).

HOME ZILANNA
In operation since 1972 in Higienópolis, the emporium specializing in Jewish products has both imported and locally produced items on its shelves. Matza (R$ 49.98, 1 kg), unfermented bread from Jerusalem, is part of meals from breakfast to dinner. You can also find kneidlach (R$74.98 a kilo), a kind of soup that has balls made of matzah —a traditional dish that is usually served on festivities such as Pesach, the Jewish Passover.

GASTRONOMIC CENTER EATALY
The Italian network of gastronomic emporiums, which has branches in different cities around the world, has been present in São Paulo since 2015. Around here, the venture spreads over three floors that mix the vocation of an emporium —with Italian products and also a selection of items national—to restaurant spaces. Among them are Pasta & Pizza and Bisteccca, which offers Florentine steak (R$ 287).

COMBU PRODUCTS FROM THE AMAZON
The island of Combu, about ten minutes away by boat from the capital of Pará, inspires the name of this emporium, installed in a space of 200 m². As the name implies, the idea is to bring products and ingredients typical of that region’s cuisine to São Paulo. Among them are tucupi, a yellowish broth extracted from cassava (R$ 28 a liter), chicory-do-pará, a kind of aromatic herb (R$ 16, 150 g), and pepper sauce. with tucupi (R$ 15, 150 ml).

COMPANY OF FERMENTED PRODUCTS
The Fermentare Group encompasses a store, distributor, school and publisher. Committed to exploring and disseminating the culture of fermentation, it is a reference in the culinary scene by bringing back the flavor of fermented foods. DOUCUR OF HEAVEN
It offers jams combining French technique with seasonal ingredients, including some recipes that reveal rare Brazilian fruits and spices in the market. This is the case, for example, of the one with cabeludinha (sour fruit from the Atlantic forest). But there are also options like blackberry and basil jelly (R$32), pear and tonka bean jelly (R$33), tangerine with star anise, cloves and nutmeg (R$30) and mango, lemon, coriander and vanilla (R$ 30). FASANO EMPORIO
With 1,000 m², the Fasano group complex opened its doors in 2022 and is divided into a bakery, rotisserie and emporium with gondolas that account for around 4,500 products – some of them, of own brand. The windows are stocked with fresh pasta, sauces, antipasti, salads, meat and fish, which can be taken pre-finished or ready to eat. On the first floor, a cellar has 6,000 bottles of wine — there are about a thousand different labels, from 31 importers. On the third floor, there is a café and bakery with a terrace.

MERMELIA
The artisanal jam brand has some traditional flavors among its 90 recipes, such as banana with chocolate (R$28). But there are also bolder versions, such as papaya with ant-saúva (R$45) and red pepper (R$28). Another highlight are combinations that include alcoholic beverages, such as onion with cabernet sauvignon (R$ 28).

OTUGUI
It was in 1989, at the grocery store owned by Yoon Sang Ha and his wife, Sung Eun Kang, that the idea was born to meet the demand for typical recipes from Korean immigrants. There, you can find options for ready-made topokki, a kind of rice pasta to be cooked in a sauce (from R$20), and gochujang, concentrated pepper paste (from R$38). There is also soju, a distilled and fermented drink typical of South Korea (from R$23 a bottle).

ROTISSERIA
TICKETS
After studying economics, Roberto Eid decided to invest in a gastronomy course at the renowned French Le Cordon Bleu. He went through kitchens in Europe and São Paulo, until, in the pandemic, he started making recipes to order. He then opened a rotisserie with his family in November 2022. Among the specialties are terrines, such as duck with pistachio (R$ 210, 700 g; R$ 105, 350 g) and goat cheese (R$ 105, 350 g) R$ 210), which can be accompanied by pesto sauce (R$ 20, 150 g).

An architect by training, chef Ana Soares did not discard this baggage when she opened her pastry in 1995. The aesthetic refinement remained not only in the store’s environment but also in the making of delicate pasta, such as the colorful brie torteli with pear. It is also possible to order pastas and sauces in larger portions, such as the raw ham cappelle with dried figs and hazelnuts (R$185 a kilo) and herb cream (R$165 a liter).

The rotisserie, which has units in Pompeia and Jardins, offers a menu with fresh products, such as sauces, antipasti, pies and bread, all prepared in the open kitchen. THE CHEESE FARM
By mining artisanal dairy products in different regions of the country for two decades, Fernando Oliveira helped highlight Brazilian producers and cheeses. The physical store, which left the busy Vila Madalena to go to Vila Beatriz, has creamy cow cheeses like Capitu (R$ 168, 400 g), which can be eaten by the spoonful. If you prefer goat meat, Marins, with a firm texture and mild flavor, is among the options. In addition to the physical space, it also works as an ecommerce.

ORGANIC HOUSE
Since 2020, it has been working online, offering only organic food baskets – as deliveries are scheduled, ingredients are harvested on the day and go straight from the producer to the customers’ homes. There are options to supply smaller pantries, such as five servings of various fruits (R$ 75), to the alternative with 17 items, which includes vegetables, roots and spices, for R$ 155.

INSTITUTO FEIRA LIVRE
It is a self-managed non-profit association that seeks to practice commercial transparency by disclosing all costs involved in the operation. In addition, the prices adopted in the space are established directly by the farmers. For the system to work, the customer is invited to contribute with an increase of 35% on their purchases, to cover expenses such as utility bills and rent for the premises. There are Alvorada carioca beans (R$ 11.66, no contribution) and shimeji mushrooms (R$ 7.04, 200 g, no contribution).
