The arrest of a 27-year-old man from Syria was episodic for illegal transportation of foreigners. The 27-year-old tried to escape from the police and the vehicle he was driving went off the road, crashed into a wall and ended up in the yard of a shop. in the village of Apollonia, in Thessaloniki.

According to ELAS, the car he was driving was stolen and had false plates. The 27-year-old illegally transported seven of his compatriots while, as it became known, he was driving without a license.

The announcement of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki states:
“Police officers of A.T. Volvi, as part of an afternoon patrol for the policing of their area, detected yesterday (27-08-2023), on the Old Kavala-Thessaloniki National Highway, near Nea Vrasne, a passenger vehicle that was illegally transporting foreigners.

The 27-year-old foreign driver of the car, in order to avoid the control, developed speed while performing dangerous maneuvers. At the height of the village of Apollonia, the vehicle veered off its course and, after hitting a wall, entered, partially, an outdoor area of ​​a health care store, where it came to rest.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested, while it was found that seven (7) foreigners were being transported, who lacked documents for their legal stay in Greek territory, with two of them found in the luggage area.
