In two installments and with visible signs of the fight – which took place early Monday afternoon, outside the Moira Health Center – the 8 arrested for the fight were brought to the Heraklion Courthouse and before the Prosecutor.

Initially, 4 members of one family were transferred and then the four on the other side.

Criminal charges were brought against the 8 for dangerous bodily harm jointly and severally, consecutively, while three of them are also prosecuted for dangerous bodily harm consecutively.

Separately, prosecutions were brought for illegal carrying of weapons (one accused of carrying a hammer and pepper spray, another of a knife and hammer, another of pepper spray), some are being prosecuted for illegal possession and use of a weapon and one is facing a charge of “violence against an officer, by an offender who was carrying a weapon).
All 8 are referred to the Autonomous Single-Member Criminal Court of Heraklion

It is recalled that 5 of those arrested required medical treatment after the fight, and were taken to the Venizelio Hospital of Heraklion, while subsequently, after being discharged, they were brought before the authorities.

It is recalled that members of the two families fought each other fiercely, outside the Moira Health Center and in fact during the beating hammers, pepper spray and sledgehammers were used.

Authorities are still investigating how the fight took place. while based on what has become known, everything seems to have started from the confrontation between a 25-year-old and a 19-year-old who met on the Galia – Moires road, driving their vehicles.
The authorities are examining scenes from video footage recorded by a gas station security camera at the point where the two young men first met.
