Signed today, agreement to grant three unmanned aircraft to the Coast Guard in order to strengthen the operational capability of the Port Authorities of Patras, Katakolo and Messolonghi.

An agreement to grant the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard three unmanned aircraft from the Region of Western Greece was signed today by the Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and the Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Research and Innovation of Western Greece, Fokion Zaimis.

The signing of the agreement took place at the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy and this concession is part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Region of Western Greece and the Coast Guard.

The equipment in question will strengthen surveillance in the wider area of ​​responsibility of the 5th Regional Command of the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard, resulting in an increase in the operational capability of the Port Authorities of Patras, Katakolo and Messolonghi, in the fields of search and rescue of missing persons, prosecution of smuggling, maritime surveillance field etc.
