Drivers and project machinery are available from the Region of Central Macedonia to the Autonomous Directorate of Civil Protection of the Region of Eastern Macedonia – Thrace for the forest fire in Evros, which continues its destructive work.
“We considered it our duty to support the Region of Eastern Macedonia – Thrace, in the great effort to deal with the fiery blaze, which has been burning the forest wealth of Evros for many days. Due to the emergency, we decided to help as much as we can the neighboring District and all those who have been fighting the unequal battle for so many days with the fires. The personnel and machinery we sent to Evros to support the large firefighting effort we believe will contribute substantially and effectively and the fire to be tackled as soon as possible. After all, the value of both drivers and machines has been proven in practice, in fires that broke out in Central Macedonia and were successfully dealt with. My wish is that we immediately end this nightmare, which has reached uncontrollable proportions. The Region of Central Macedonia is here and will help in any way it can in Evros or wherever else Greece is tested”emphasized Mr. Tzitzikostas.
