The record number of 5.6 million passengers was reached this year by the passenger traffic of the summer season in the three largest ports of Attica (Piraeus Rafina and Lavrio), which is equivalent to an increase of 8.59% compared to last year.

In particular, from the beginning of June to the end of August (1.6.2023 to 31.8.2023) a total of 5,613,856 passengers were moved, when in the same time period in 2022 5,169,646 had been moved. Of these, 3,007,125 passengers were to and from the port of Piraeus, an increase of 4.84% compared to the corresponding summer period of 2022.

Indicative of the upward trend is that in all three summer months there is an increase in all three major ports of Attica. Apart from Piraeus, Rafina shows an increase of +5.76% (955,051 passengers) while Lavrio with 405,941 passengers jumps to +27.99%! The increase to and from the Argosaronic islands is impressive with 1.2 million passengers and a 15.23% increase compared to 2022.

More specifically, 4.3 million passengers traveled in July and August (a 6.08% increase) compared to last year, while in June 1.3 million passengers (a 17.74% increase) compared to 2022.

It is worth noting that in the two months of July – August a significant increase was also recorded in the number of routes (10,222, +4.4%), cars (706,771, +5.24%), trucks (92,035, +4.51%) ) and two-wheelers (114,797, +4.86%) in all three ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio.
