Double-parked vehicles, illegal parking and driving under the influence of drunkenness were the target of traffic controls in various areas of Thessaloniki and 126 related violations were confirmed in the last two days.

With the aim of dealing with the phenomenon of “double parking”, especially in areas where there are entertainment centers, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol, the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate systematically carries out targeted checks.

In this context, only on Friday and Saturday (September 1 and 2), both in the city center and in Lagada Square, but also in the areas of Diavati, Stavros, Olympiada and N. Michanionas, police officers from the Traffic Departments of Litis, Thermi, Chalkidonas and Asprovaltas, as well as the Thessaloniki Traffic Sub-Directorate, carried out checks on 846 vehicles and confirmed 24 violations related to drunkenness and 71 related to double parking.

In addition, following the order of the Inspector General of the Police of Northern Greece, police officers of the Pella Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Group provided assistance in order to carry out controls in the city center, carrying out vehicle controls and verifying 31 violations, related to illegal parking.

Similar police actions will continue unabated.
