The spearhead for the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team will once again be the Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid, with crews Ott Tänak-Martin Järveoja and Pierre-Louis Loubet-Nicolas Gilsoul
Ford is ready for another numerous and dynamic presence at this year’s EKO Rally Acropolis, 10th round of the FIA World Rally Championship for 2023, which this year marks in a festive atmosphere the 70 years of presence of our national race on the world racing scene.
From the very next Thursday, September 7th until Sunday, September 10th, all the crews participating in the EKO Rally Acropolis 2023 with Ford racing cars are ready to offer a rich spectacle, at the same time claiming important distinctions in their categories, in a total of 15 special routes total length of 305.81 kilometers of this year’s event.
The WRC World Champion in 2019 and winner of Rally Sweden last February, Ott Tänak, together with his co-driver Martin Järveoja in the right bucket, will be at this year’s EKO Rally Acropolis the spearhead for the M-Sport Ford World team Rally Team. Both in the EKO Super Special Stage of 1.48 kilometers which will take place in Platia Nero, officially opening the curtain of the race for 2023, and in the demanding dirt special routes that follow in the mountains of Corinth and Central Greece, the undisputed ace in sleeve for the crew from Estonia will once again be the Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid.
Joining them in this year’s race will be Pierre-Louis Loubet and Nicolas Gilsoul, with another Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid of the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team.
Holding aloft the Greek flag at EKO Rally Acropolis 2023, the third Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid with #9 on the doors will be driven by Iordanis Serderidis, in the fourth participation of the Greek driver in the FIA World Championship after the Monte Carlo, Mexico and Safari Rally, having the Belgian Frederic Miclotte in the right seat of the four-wheeled “war machine” of the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team.
Dynamic will be the presence of the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team in the Rally2 category, in which the Ford Fiesta of the corresponding specifications with the crews of Adrien Fourmaux-Alexandre Coria and Grégoire Munster-Louis Louka will star.
At the same time, the curtain of the Youth Championship (JWRC) for 2023 will officially fall at the EKO Rally Acropolis, an institution in which the next stars of the WRC participate in the reliable and extremely competitive Ford Fiesta Rally3.
With a car of the same specifications and the technical support of M-Sport Ford, Epaminondas Karanikolas, two-time champion in our country in the F2 category, will participate in this year’s EKO Rally Akropolis, with George Kakavas as co-driver in the “Greek” Ford Fiesta Rally3 of Car Center .
It is worth noting that in the Service Park of the race located in the city of Lamia, all visitors and friends of Ford will be able to see up close all 17 racing cars in total that are technically supported by the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team in this year’s EKO Rally Acropolis – three Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid, three Ford Fiesta Rally2 and eleven Ford Fiesta Rally3, including the eight taking part in the Youth Championship (JWRC).
In total, the Ford racing cars that will take part in this year’s EKO Rally Acropolis amount to 24.
