Efforts to restore access and the problems caused to Thessaly hospitals by the bad weather are ongoing. Most problems were caused in Volos hospital.

According to the latest update, access is free and all its parts are working. There is a power supply and where necessary generators have been put into operation. In particular for the water supply, and in relation to what was mentioned earlier, this is carried out by tankers and all procedures have been launched for the continuous water supply of the hospital with the assistance of the Region of Thessaly, the Fire Service and private individuals.

Eight patients are being treated at the Hospital due to the flood phenomena and 13 people are being accommodated in the hospital facilities.

Problems, of lesser intensity, were also caused in the other five hospitals of Thessaly.

Lamia General Hospital

Access to the nursing facility is free, as is the electricity supply. Generators will be put into operation if required. At the same time, there is no problem with the hospital’s water supply. Until now, in the General Hospital of Lamia, there has been an inflow of water in two operating rooms.

Karditsa General Hospital

An operating theater is out of order at the Karditsa General Hospital, while otherwise the nursing facility does not present any problems. When necessary, generators were put into operation. The hospital facilities accommodate 21 people.

Trikala General Hospital

Access is impossible for residents from the mountainous – semi-mountainous volume, while it remains free for those who live in the city of Trikala. During a power outage during the evening hours the generator was manually operated. Only emergency surgeries will be performed in the nursing facility. At the same time, 15 people from a private structure are expected to be accommodated in the hospital facilities.

Larissa General Hospital

Access is free, water and electricity supply uninterrupted.

No patients are hospitalized due to flood phenomena, but 3 people are accommodated in the hospital facilities.

Larissa University Hospital

Its operation is normal and the electricity and water supply is uninterrupted. Four oncology patients remain at Larissa University.
