For four days, the 75-year-old grandfather and the 3 children have been living without water and electricity, trapped inside the house, and food supplies have dwindled
A 75-year-old man with his 3 grandchildren, aged 4, 8 and 10, have been trapped since Tuesday in Puri, Zagoraone of the most remote villages of Eastern Pelion, which is now completely cut off from the rest of the Prefecture.
The children live in Volos and were taken on Monday by their parents to Puri, in order to stay for a few days with the grandfather, until the schools opened, as they themselves had to work. In the meantime, the bad weather “Daniel” broke out with fury and the road connecting Puri to Zagora was cut in two places, before the parents could reach the village to pick up their children.
For 4 days the 75-year-old grandfather and the 3 children live without water and electricity, trapped inside the house, and food supplies are already running low. The most serious problem, however, is that the medical treatment received by the 4-year-old, who is experiencing a respiratory problem, has been discontinued. According to her mother who spoke to gegonota.news, the child receives inhalations with a nebulizer, but due to the power cut, the treatment has stopped, while her antibiotics have also run out.
The children’s parents are making a dramatic appeal for help, since they cannot even approach the village. The road to Zagora has been destroyed in two places, while the access to the beach has also been destroyed, so that one can reach the village by sea.
It is noted that stranded in Puri are, among others, 4 Israeli tourists, 4 people from South Africa and 3 Greeks – all tourists – of which one is facing a health problem.
