1861: The first part of the article “Anarchy” is published in the newspaper “Fos” by Sophocles Karydis and is considered the first anarchist publication in Greece at the time. Law student Dimitrios Paparrigopoulos, son of the historian Konstantinos Paparrigopoulos, is said to be its author. The newspaper is prosecuted and the paper is confiscated.
1886: The Bern Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works is signed. It is the first international agreement on intellectual property and the basis for all subsequent ones.
1967: Dictator George Papadopoulos meets in Evros with the Turkish Prime Minister, Suleiman Demirel. They discuss Greek-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue.
1971: Dutch agronomist Paul Kuipers, pioneer of greenhouses in Greece, is killed in a car accident. He was more widely known in Ierapetra, Crete as “The Dutchman”.
1974: Lawyer Alexandros Lykourezos files a lawsuit against the leaders of the April Junta, thus providing the legal basis for their criminal prosecution.
1984: The Gendarmerie and the City Police are unified and ELAS is created.
