A total of 4,250 rescues – evacuations of people, who were taken to safe places, have been carried out from 7 am on Tuesday, September 5, until 7 am today, Sunday, September 10, according to information from the Fire Department. At the same time, during the same period of time, the Operations Center of the Fire Department received 9,047 calls for water pumping and tree cutting.

Specifically:

In the Region of Thessaly, 6,731 calls were made, of which:

-In Magnesia, 2,272 calls, while so far 820 water pumps have been carried out and 630 people have been transported to safe places

-In Larissa 1894 calls, while so far 320 water pumps have been carried out and 1,057 people have been transported to safe places

-In Karditsa, 1,520 calls, while so far 347 water pumps have been carried out and 885 people have been transported to safe places

-In Trikala, 925 calls, while so far 158 water pumps have been carried out and 665 people have been transported to safe places

-In Skiathos, 120 calls, while so far 28 water pumps have been carried out and 35 people have been transported to safe places

In the Region of Central Greece 938 calls, of which:

– In areas of northern Evia, 120 calls were made and 38 water pumps were carried out, 12 trees were cut and 9 people were transported to safe places

-In Domoko and Lamia Fthiotida 796 calls were made and 325 water pumps were carried out and 142 people were transported to safe places

-In Thebes and Livadia of Boeotia, 22 calls were made and 19 water pumps were carried out and 1 person was taken to a safe place

In the Region of Central Macedonia 40 calls, of which:

– In Thessaloniki, 1 water pumping, 10 tree cuttings and 2 object removals took place

– In Halkidiki, 14 trees were cut down and 2 objects were removed

– In Serres, 1 tree felling took place

– In Katerini Pieria, 2 water pumpings were carried out

In the Peloponnese Region 152 calls, of which:

– In Spetses, 12 calls were made and 10 water pumps were carried out

-In Epidaurus, 43 calls were made and 24 water pumps were carried out, 7 trees were cut, 1 object was removed and 8 people were transported to safe places

-In Kranidi, 90 calls were made, and 71 water pumps were carried out and 7 people were transported to safe places.

– In Monemvasia, 5 water pumpings were carried out

– In Corinth, 2 water pumps were carried out

In the Attica Region 1,186 calls, of which:

-In areas of the basin, 1062 calls were made and 752 water pumps were carried out, 75 trees were cut and 44 people were transported to safe places.

-In Aegina and Agistri, 124 calls were made and 49 water pumps were carried out

Also, from Thursday, September 7, 2023, a total of 767 rescues were carried out by aerial means made available by the Fire Brigade, the Armed Forces, Switzerland through bilateral agreements, LS-ELTAK, EL.AS. as well as a private helicopter provided by the family of Theodoros and Gianna Angelopoulos.

At the same time, the air and ground means as well as S.mi.E.A. of P.S. transport food, water, medicines and bedding to affected areas of Thessaly Region.

It is noted that all Civil Protection forces remain on general alert. At the same time, the Fire Brigade calls on all citizens to be particularly careful and to faithfully follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
