Three of the four crew members of the Blue Horizon ship were brought to the Piraeus prosecutor’s office again this morning in order to apologize for the death of the 36-year-old passenger Antonis Kargiotis.

The 4th defendant, Mr mate who was deckhand on the fateful night of the murder, has been hospitalized since yesterday with an ischemic episode and will be excused from the hospital, where the public prosecutor will go there.

It is recalled that the 36-year-old man, in his attempt to board the liner for Heraklion, Crete, was pushed back by crew members, resulting in his falling into the sea and his death.

According to the defense attorneys of the defendants, new evidence has emerged that was included in the case file, which is why yesterday they requested and received a deadline for today.

It is noted that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has also received the conclusion of the Sworn Administrative Examination ordered by the Minister of Shipping M. Varvitsiotis for the investigation of the responsibilities of the staff of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus regarding the tragic incident.
