by

A ring that trafficked raw cannabis and cocaine in prisons was dismantled by the Attica Security Drug Prosecution sub-directorate, in collaboration with the management and employees of a detention center.

In particular, according to ELAS, four members of the criminal organization – two imprisoned foreigners and two Greeks – were arrested in a spontaneous process, one of whom is a prison officer. The latter, acting on behalf of the other members, had brought to the judicial prisons two improvised packages in the shape of a shoe sole, with raw hemp weighing 70 grams, and had hidden them in a toilet, in order to hand them over to a foreign prisoner and further trafficking in prisons.

Penitentiary officials, however, located the drugs, and then the accused were arrested. A case was filed against them for the occasional offenses of the criminal organization, the violation of the legislation on addictive substances and the penitentiary code. At the same time, two other foreigners, members of the same ring, have been identified and are wanted.

According to ELAS, the prison official was the organizer of the import and transportation of drugs inside the prisons, the other national was in charge of receiving, storing and guarding the drugs, while the imprisoned foreigners had undertaken to find suppliers to find drugs. and prospective “clients”.

From the searches carried out, found and confiscated, among others: 480 grams of raw cannabis, 4.3 grams of cocaine, the amount of 700 euros, 4 mobile phones and a number of nylon packages.

The arrested were taken to the competent Public Prosecutor.
