The relevant amendment that was submitted late last night for a vote in the Parliament also includes arrangements for the granting of insurance capacity to those affected by natural disasters
Filed yesterday in Parliament the amendment by which the three-year freeze is lifted, while at the same time provision of insurance capacity is foreseen until 28/2/2024 to the residents of the areas affected by the recent natural disasters.
The amendment is part of the labor bill passed this week in the Parliament and provides, among other things, for the “unfreezing” of the three years:
From 1.1.2024, the suspension of the validity of provisions of laws, regulatory acts, collective agreements or arbitration decisions, which provide for increases in salaries or wages, including those related to seniority, is lifted, with the sole condition that a specific working time has passed, such as the multi-year allowance , the working time allowance, the three-year allowance and the five-year allowance.
Particularly:
- The length of service of each employee, who was hired before 14.2.2012, as this length of service was formed on 14.2.2012 when its completion was suspended, continues to be completed after 1.1.2024.
- The seniority of each employee, hired after 14.2.2012, starts to be completed after 1.1.2024.
For the granting of insurance capacity
It is planned to grant insurance capacity until 2/28/2024:
- To all e-EFKA insured persons (salaried, self-employed, farmers, self-employed and land workers) who work in the affected areas and for whom ministerial decisions have been issued to suspend and regulate insurance contributions as well as
- To all the unemployed in these areas who are registered in the Registers of the Public Employment Service (DYPA).
The insurance capacity is granted from the day of the natural disaster, without any condition of insurance period and regardless of debts, in order for the beneficiaries to have access not only to public hospitals but also to private health service providers contracted with EOPYY, for as much as possible more complete coverage of the medical care needs they face.
