496,602.38 euros were credited to the bank accounts of 104 beneficiaries.
New first aid payments to those affected by the fires that occurred in the summer in various regions of the country, were made on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 and Thursday, September 21, 2021, as stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
In particular, 496,602.38 euros were credited to the bank accounts of 104 beneficiaries.
These include payments of 203,098.83 to 32 victims of the fires in the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace as first aid against housing assistance, but also payments of 144,000 euros to businesses and livestock farms as first aid against a grant. In total, to date, 1,689,563.13 euros have been granted as first aid.
With reference to the first aid against housing assistance, the amount of aid amounts to 10,000 euros for buildings with severe damage that makes them dangerous for use (“red”) and to 5,000 euros for buildings with serious damage that makes them temporarily unfit for use ( “yellow”).
As regards the part of the first aid against a grant, the amount of the aid amounts to 4,000 euros for each business or organization with very serious material damage and to 2,000 euros for each business or organization with serious material damage. Already, according to the announcement, first aid payments against business grants have started in the areas for which the Regions have sent the relevant data.
In addition, it is pointed out that the new payments to the beneficiaries are made while the arogi.gov.gr platform is still open for applications. The online platform arogi.gov.gr remains open for the submission of applications by fire-affected citizens and businesses until September 25.
Finally, it is noted that (a) the amount of the first aid received by each business or each livestock unit is set off against the amount of the final grant, as determined by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, after the damage has been recorded by the state aid committees of the Region, and (b) the amount of the first aid received by each property owner is offset against the amount of the final housing assistance, as this will be determined by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection with a relevant decision delimiting and granting housing assistance.
