Emergency landing at the international airport “Macedonia” of Thessaloniki yesterday, at 10.30 in the evening, an aircraft operating a flight from Glasgow to Antalya, due to the aggressive behavior of a female passenger, who was allegedly in a state of intoxication.

Two hours after the plane took off, a British woman, 61, attacked the crew with shouts and punches, causing herself bodily harm as she hit her face on the seat. Despite the crew’s efforts to calm her down, she continued her violent behavior. Under these circumstances, the aircraft operator requested, for reasons of flight safety, to make an emergency landing at “Macedonia” airport.

The British woman was arrested by airport police officers and today was taken to the prosecutor’s office for criminal prosecution. She was charged with obstructing traffic, disorderly conduct on an aircraft in flight and disobeying pilot orders. He was referred to be tried by the automatic procedure at the Three-member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki.
