Available through Gov.gr Wallet is from today the special sign for free traffic in the ring of Athens. In this way, citizens can quickly and easily issue the new digital badge on their mobile phone and show it when entering the ring.

The badge is issued if the vehicle belongs to one of the following categories:

  1. Electric
  2. Made of natural gas or LPG
  3. Hybrid
  4. Euro 6 class and at the same time emit carbon dioxide below 120 g/km. (combined cycle price, according to the New European Driving Cycle/NEDC), for vehicles registered before 2021 or emitting carbon dioxide below 145 g/km. (combined cycle price according to the Worldwide Light Test Procedure/WLTP), for vehicles registered from 2021 onwards.

It is pointed out that CO2 emissions are not related to the Euro 6 pollution level.

Citizens can install the Gov.gr Wallet application via wallet.gov.gr.

The Fingerprint is the fifth document included in the Gov.gr Wallet. It is worth noting that the Police Identity Card, Driver’s License, Digital Disability Card and Digital Unemployment Card (DYPA) are already available.

So far in the application they have been saved more than 962,000 identity cards, 832,000 driver’s licenses and 23,000 disability cards and 63,000 unemployment cards (DYPA).

It is reminded that the mark is also issued through gov.gr and specifically daktylios.gov.gr, filling in the vehicle registration number and the VAT number of the owner/company to which the vehicle belongs.

The badge issued has a unique verification code, as well as the advanced electronic seal of gov.gr. Therefore, interested parties can send it electronically, but also print it, so that they can display it in hard copy.

Confirmation of the authenticity of the copy is done simply and quickly, through the verification application: docs.gov.gr/validate, typing the document’s unique verification code.

The design and development of the service was done by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance and the National Technology and Research Infrastructure Network (EDYTE SA – GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Governance. The vehicle data is obtained through the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
